Elderly Abuse…

September 12, 2009 at 7:25 pm

An elderly great-grandmother, abused by a nursing home and ill-treated at the hospital (like the time when she was sent home with a catheter still in her arm, as shown in the video below), was later forced into a nursing home again against her will.

Meanwhile, her daughter and her husband now stand accused with false charges of “elderly abuse” for the age and cancer-related ailments of their matriarch, and are also now falsely accused of “child abuse,” to justify taking and keeping the couple’s three young children when they were both arrested on July 10, 2009.

The matriarch’s death 8 days after being forcibly incarcerated in a nursing home, 13 days after her hospitalization for osteoporosis-related back pain, was due to the incompetent medical and legal intervention against her and her family, bad nursing home diet, and similar abuses.

Her daughter spent 31 days, and her son-in-law 41 days, languishing needlessly in a local jail — with little or no food, attacked by jailers, denied most outside recreation, kept in solitary cells nearly the entire time, while denied assistance of counsel, and otherwise legally and physically abused — until her daughter’s indigent husband (a minister) managed to scrape enough deficient paper together from his meager indigent legal supplies to file a pro-per emergency life endangerment habeas petition.

This finally resulted in a lawyer being appointed to assist him (who immediately took a 30-day vacation after securing the man’s long-delayed release from jail, while he and his wife remain accused, and are denied the basic right of examining trials, without even being indicted more than two months following their false arrests, without the probable cause required by law).

This video documents the matriarch’s condition and hospital staff neglect, a little more than two months before her daughter and son-in-law were arrested, falsely charged with not feeding her and of causing her to be allegedly “severely dehydrated,” contrary to the actual facts and circumstances.

These false accusations were made by a doctor at the same hospital whose staff failed to find her son-in-law either malnourished or dehydrated after his eight days of total fasting (two four day periods without food or water his first 14 days in jail), or even after another 16 days of fasting (in all, 24 days of fasting during his first 30 days in a jail that, when he did eat, often fed this grown man like a caged animal with a meager diet of a couple of vegetables and types of fruit, in amounts insufficient to satisfy even a toddler).

As a result of these abuses, the man heard in this video lost 24 pounds (over 13% of his total weight), and still weighs 20 pounds under his bare minimum weight (177 lbs on July 9th, 2009 — the night before his arrest — but now weighing only 157 lbs, 23 days after his release from jail on August 19th, 2009):
